Privacy Policy — SnapDownloader
Effective date: July 8, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how SnapDownloader (“the App”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account information. If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account. Signing in is optional unless a feature requires it.
- Content links. When you paste or share a link into the App, that link is sent to our servers so we can process and prepare the media for download. We do not require the link to be associated with your identity.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and analytics data. We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the App is used (e.g., screens viewed, features used, session length, device model, operating system version, and general region). This data is aggregated and does not directly identify you.
- Crash and diagnostic data. We use Sentry to collect crash reports and performance diagnostics (device type, OS version, app version, and technical logs) so we can find and fix problems.
- Advertising data. We display ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS / AAID on Android), IP address, and coarse device information to serve and measure ads. On iOS, personalized advertising only occurs if you allow tracking through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. You can decline this prompt and still use the App fully.
- Push notification data. We use OneSignal to send push notifications. OneSignal receives a push token and basic device information. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
- Purchase information. If you make an in-app purchase, the transaction is processed entirely by Apple’s App Store or Google Play. We do not receive or store your payment card details.
Information stored on your device
- Downloaded media. Files you download are saved to your device’s photo library or storage. They stay on your device and are not uploaded to us.
- Clipboard access. The App may read your clipboard only to detect a link you have copied, so it can be pasted for you. Clipboard contents are not collected or stored beyond this purpose.
- Local app data. Preferences and download history may be stored locally on your device (e.g., in a local database) and are removed when you uninstall the App.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above to:
- Provide the App’s core functionality (processing links and preparing downloads);
- Operate, maintain, and improve the App;
- Diagnose crashes and technical issues;
- Display and measure advertising, which keeps the App free;
- Send push notifications you have opted into;
- Manage sign-in and sync features where applicable;
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
3. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services, each with its own privacy policy:
- Google Firebase (Analytics, Authentication, Firestore) — firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- Google AdMob — policies.google.com/privacy
- Google Sign-In — policies.google.com/privacy
- OneSignal — onesignal.com/privacy_policy
- Sentry — sentry.io/privacy
- Apple App Store / Google Play (in-app purchases) — see Apple’s and Google’s respective privacy policies.
We encourage you to review these policies to understand how these providers handle data.
4. Permissions We Request
- Photos / media / storage — to save downloaded videos and images to your device, and to let you pick files when a feature needs it.
- Notifications — to send you optional push notifications.
- Tracking (iOS only) — to deliver personalized ads, only if you grant permission through the App Tracking Transparency prompt.
You can revoke any permission at any time in your device settings; core downloading features will continue to work where possible.
5. Data Retention
- Analytics and crash data are retained by our service providers according to their retention policies and are kept only as long as needed for the purposes above.
- Account data (if you sign in) is retained until you delete your account or ask us to remove it.
- Downloaded files and local app data live only on your device and are deleted when you remove them or uninstall the App.
6. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) between the App and our servers. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR in the European Economic Area or the CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Request correction or deletion of your data;
- Object to or restrict certain processing;
- Opt out of personalized advertising;
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email address below. You can also reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking; Android: Settings → Google → Ads).
9. Intellectual Property & Acceptable Use
SnapDownloader is a tool for downloading publicly available content for personal use. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Snap Inc. or any other platform. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of downloaded content respects the rights of content owners and the terms of service of the platforms involved.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted within the App or on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
